Tech Fusion Career Events, NuPaths
Role: Event Strategist and Producer
Intro
Tech Fusion is NuPaths’ signature career event series created to connect learners and graduates with hiring partners, industry speakers, and hands-on career development resources. Prior to Tech Fusion, NuPaths hosted small Employer Connection sessions with only two to three employers and about twelve students. As the Marketing Manager, I also served as the Event Strategist and Producer responsible for redesigning the event into a larger, more dynamic, high value experience that attracted nine to twelve employers and up to forty students and graduates per edition.
I led the planning, content development, employer coordination, speaker preparation, marketing alignment, and operational execution for both virtual and in person editions, creating an event model that delivered significantly stronger engagement and outcomes.
Objective
Deliver a fully coordinated and professional virtual summit that connected global HR leaders, delivered interactive learning experiences, and supported certification requirements, exhibitor engagement, and a smooth participant journey across four full days.
Challenge
The Summit featured keynotes, breakouts, roundtables, exhibitor hours, networking lounges, and an awards segment. This required managing hundreds of speakers in different time zones, aligning session timing for SHRM and HRCI credits, coordinating with multiple internal teams, and preparing a fully built virtual environment before live execution.
A clear production strategy and detailed operational planning were essential to enable the virtual events team to execute confidently.
Strategic Approach
1. Event Format Redesign
Created the new Tech Fusion event model to replace the basic Employer Connection sessions.
Introduced structured programming, including:
Industry speakers
Employer presentations
Q and A sessions
Speed networking or speed interviews
Onsite professional headshots
Resume reviews
Designed separate virtual and in person flows that maximized engagement.
2. Employer Coordination and Expansion
Increased employer participation from two or three companies to nine to twelve per event.
Developed communication packets, expectations, and timelines to support hiring partners.
Managed employer placements, presentation times, interview tables, and onsite logistics.
3. Speaker and Session Production
Identified and prepared speakers from employer partners and community organizations.
Led content development, talking points, scripts, and event introductions.
Ensured smooth transitions between segments for both virtual and onsite events.
4. In Person Engagement Enhancements
Introduced onsite headshot photography as an incentive for attendance.
Implemented resume review stations staffed by employers and career professionals.
Managed room setup, check-in, signage, and attendee flow.
5. Virtual Event Planning
Built online event spaces with breakout areas and presentation rooms.
Created timing plans and moderator guidance for virtual delivery.
Prepared students and employers for platform navigation.
Execution and Team Coordination
Execution
End-to-End Coordination
Produced the run of show, timelines, content assets, and instructions for all participants.
Managed communications across marketing, admissions, career services, and employer partners.
Ensured consistent branding and messaging to support event attendance and employer satisfaction.

Directed staff roles, vendor coordination, employer table setup, and photography stations.
Oversaw the flow of interviews, presentations, and resume reviews.
